All Facilities-issued iPhones come with the Verizon Call Filter app installed. This app works to identify potential spam calls and block calls that are highly likely to be fraudulent. To set up this service, please follow the steps below on your Facilities-issued iPhone.


1. Begin by launching the Verizon Call Filter app.
2. The app will immediately prompt you to allow permissions to access contacts and send notifications. You will need to tap OK/Allow for both.
3. Tap Get Started to begin setup.
4. On the next screen, it will ask if you'd like to upgrade to Call Filter Plus. This comes at an additional cost and is not currently offered by Facilities Management without supervisor authorization.

To continue, tap "Continue with Call Filter Free" at the bottom of the screen.
5. The app will ask what type of calls you'd like to filter. We recommend leaving the default options.

Tap Next to continue.
6. For Neighborhood filter, leave the Block similar to mine option OFF.

Enabling this will likely prevent you from receiving calls from CSU phone numbers.
7. Finally, you'll need enable some options in Settings to allow the app to work properly.

Tap Go to Settings at the bottom of the screen, and then turn on all options in the Call Blocking & Identification screen.
8. Now return to the Call Filter by app by tapping "Call Filter" in the top left corner, or by returning to the home screen and re-opening the app.

You will see the Permissions & roles screens which should confirm the app has all the permissions it needs to operate.

Tap Next to continue.
9. On the Setup complete screen, tap Finish to complete setup.

Call Filtering is now enabled and will alert you to potentially fraudulent calls and block high-risk calls.
10. You will now see the a list of calls to your device with their fraud-risk listed. You may return to this screen to report fraudulent calls and improve the app's ability to filter scams.
