OneDrive Shortcuts are a very useful way to add quick access to various Sharepoint folders or Teams files you may have.

Each shortcut is a direct link to a Teams or a Sharepoint folder. You can open and edit collaborative files, add or delete files, and access everything through the Windows file explorer like you would through Sharepoint.
Adding a Folder Shortcut
- You can add a shortcut to any folder within Sharepoint/Teams by navigating to the folder, and clicking Add shortcut to OneDrive:

- Once you add the shortcut, OneDrive will sync, which may take a while depending on the size of the folder.
General tips about Folder Shortcuts
- You cannot have Folder Shortcuts and Teams synced folders at the same time. If you attempt to do so, you will receive an error. You can solve this by unsyncing your synced folders first, and then adding the shortcut again.
- A folder within a folder shortcut cannot itself be made into a shortcut. For example:
None of the folders within the Computer services - AiM shortcut can be made into shortcuts. Attempting to do so will cause an error.
Manipulating Folder Shortcuts
- Folder shortcuts can be moved around within your OneDrive folder (e.g. to another folder), and renamed as desired.
- Everything within a folder shortcut behaves as if you opened it in Teams or Sharepoint. Changing file names, moving files, etc. will affect those files on the cloud.
- You cannot shortcut a single file in the same way as with a folder.
