Note: CSU offers both private and public wi-fi networks on campus. In July 2022, the old private ("csu-eid") and public ("csu-guest") networks were removed and have been replaced with our current private ("csu-net") and public ("csu-visitor") networks.
Connect to CSU WiFi
Staff/Faculty/Students
Please use the "csu-net" Wi-Fi network. This network will provide with the fastest and most reliable experience on campus.
To join the "csu-net" private network:
- Tap or click "csu-net" in your available Wi-Fi networks
- Enter your NetID username and password to join.
- If you receive a security certificate prompt, click Trust or Connect to continue.
- If you receive a security certificate prompt, click Trust or Connect to continue.
- On Android Phones:
- Set EAP Method to PEAP
- Set CA Certificate to None
- Identity and Password are your NetID and NetID password. You can leave Anonymous identity blank.
Visitors/Vendors
Please use the "csu-visitor" Wi-Fi network. This network will require sign in to a portal every 24 hours, for each device connecting to the network.
To join the "csu-visitor" public network:
- Tap or click on "csu-visitor" in your available Wi-Fi networks.
- You will be redirected to the visitor access portal where you will need to sign in.
- If you have never visited the portal before, you will need to Create Account. The form will ask for your name and email address.
- If you have already created your portal account, enter your Name, Email, check the Terms of Use checkbox and click Login In.
Having Issues?
Connect to the "Right" Network
If you are a CSU employee, faculty, staff or student, you should be using the "csu-net" wi-fi network. That is the newest, most reliable network currently on campus. If you are already connected to "csu-net" and are still experiencing issues, see below for steps to Forget & Rejoin a network.
If you are a vendor or visitor to CSU and do not have a NetID, you should be using the "csu-visitor" wi-fi network. Ensure that you have signed into the portal at least once in the last 24 hours. If you are already connected to "csu-visitor" and are still experiencing issues, see below steps for Forget & Rejoin a network.
Forget & Rejoin a Network
If you are showing as connected to either "csu-net" or "csu-visitor" and are still encountering connectivity issues, please try to "forget" the Wi-Fi network and rejoin it. See links below for detailed directions on forgetting a wi-fi network.
Note: Please also remove any entries for "csu-eid" or "csu-guest" as these networks are no longer broadcast.
